About

My name is Paul Bowers, and I got married in college.

My wife and I are seniors at the University of South Carolina studying, respectively, nursing and print journalism. We thought we’d share a little bit about this first year of our life together.

Paul, you and your wife are an inspiration! Thanks for sharing. Hope there is an opportunity for Mr. Beson and I to have a double date with you two in the future 🙂

My wife and I married before our final year of college. One of the benefits was instant emancipation from parents and qualification for grants that helped ease the financial strain of college. We lived frugally even after we graduated and started careers and were able to pay off our student loan debt in 5 years.

We just celebrated our 16th anniversary.

I’m engaged and have been worried about getting married in college, thank you for helping me make my decision so much easier !

I love that I stumbled upon your blog!! This is the story of my life. My boyfriend and I are going to be seniors in college this year and have been dating for almost 8 1/2 years. You couldn’t have outlined my thoughts any better! But unlike your story, we both have a decent amount of college debt facing us upon graduation, needless to say this is the ONLY thing holding us back. I hope we get our situation figured out as ideally as the two of you have. Good luck to you both and enjoy being the minority! 🙂

  6. So glad I stumbled on this blog!

My husband and I got married after my sophomore year in college. He graduated, and a week later we were married. I’m now in my senior year, and proud to say I would make the same decision again. (In fact, I would have gotten married EARLIER–Christmas break!)

Thanks for being a good witness to other Christians out there.

I’m very glad that I came across your blog! I love it so much and I have only skimmed the surface thus far, I can’t wait to read more of your posts. While me and my boyfriend have only started dating January of this year and have recently graduated high school, we are very much in love, sure we’re young and haven’t been together for long but we honestly care very much for the other and have contemplated about marriage (of course we’ll wait for a while before that happens) but still. I’m very glad that there are others, like you and your wife that have gone through the process of getting married while in college.

    Best wishes to you both!

I’m getting married in November of my first semester, at 18. He is a soldier, and isn’t going to college until I graduate. Thank you for your inspiration!

My girlfriend and i just got engaged albeit a bit early by most standards but we met just under a year ago and im a firm believer in the fact that God’s shown me the person I will spend the rest of my life with. We both just want to be married but we have a few years to go before we graduate. Any thoughts?
